Risk Disclosure
Using VaultEX and trading digital assets involves substantial risk. This disclosure sets out the material risks and your responsibilities as a user. Please read it carefully.
1. Read this before you trade
Trading and holding digital assets carries substantial risk of partial or total loss. You should only use VaultEX with funds you can afford to lose entirely. The information below is general in nature and does not constitute investment, tax or legal advice.
By using the Services at https://vaultex.ee, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted the risks described here.
2. Price volatility
Digital-asset prices can move sharply in short periods. Markets that are liquid today may become illiquid tomorrow. Circuit breakers, trading halts, and price limits — while protective — can prevent you from closing a position at a desired price. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
3. Technology and blockchain risks
Blockchains, wallet software, bridges and connectivity infrastructure can fail, be attacked, or be censored. Signed transactions are generally irreversible — if you send funds to the wrong address, on the wrong network, or with a missing memo/tag, the funds may be permanently lost. Smart-contract code can contain defects. Forks, reorgs and other protocol-level events may delay or affect your balances.
4. Your responsibilities as a user
Specifically, you are responsible for:
- confirming the destination address, network, and memo/tag for every deposit and withdrawal — mistakes cannot be reversed;
- keeping your password, 2FA secrets, anti-phishing code, recovery codes, API keys and seed phrases confidential;
- enabling and maintaining two-factor authentication;
- reviewing every email, SMS and notification that appears to come from VaultEX against your anti-phishing code;
- verifying you are on the official domain vaultex.ee every time you sign in;
- reviewing orders, quotes, fees and timers carefully before confirming — VaultEX is not liable for trades placed by mistake after confirmation;
- declaring and paying all taxes arising from your activity on VaultEX.
6. Regulatory risk
Laws and regulations affecting digital assets vary significantly across jurisdictions and change frequently. Changes may restrict or prohibit access to specific products or tokens, require additional disclosures, or affect the tax treatment of your activity. VaultEX may be required to freeze accounts, restrict services, or share data in response to regulator or court instructions, with or without notice where legally permitted.
7. Liquidity and execution
Market orders execute at the best available price at the time of matching, which may differ materially from the displayed price — particularly on illiquid pairs or during periods of high volatility. Always consider using limit orders for large executions, and factor in slippage. VaultEX does not guarantee execution at any specific price or within any specific time.
8. Structured products and earn
Yield products (flexible savings, locked staking, dual investment, auto-invest) carry different risk profiles. Locked products forfeit accrued interest and may incur penalties on early redemption. Dual investment products are not capital protected: principal may be converted to the opposite asset at the strike price at expiry. APRs are indicative, may change, and are not guaranteed.
9. Custody model
While VaultEX operates robust custody (high cold-storage ratios, MPC signing, segregated fiat at tier-1 banks, insurance programmes), no custody scheme is risk-free. Insurance covers specified events and may not cover all forms of loss. You are encouraged to self-custody assets you do not actively need for trading.
10. Account restrictions and freezes
VaultEX may suspend, restrict, freeze, or close any account, and cancel or reverse transactions, in accordance with our Terms of Service. Reviews may take an indefinite period. During review, you may be unable to trade, deposit or withdraw. VaultEX is not liable for any loss or missed opportunity during a review or freeze conducted in accordance with our Terms or applicable law.
11. Availability and operational risk
The Services may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, or unforeseen events. VaultEX does not guarantee uninterrupted availability and is not liable for losses arising from outages, upstream provider failures, or force-majeure events.
12. No investment advice
Any information on the Services — including market data, educational articles, and product descriptions — is provided for information only and does not constitute investment, tax, or legal advice, nor a solicitation to buy or sell any asset. Seek independent advice before making decisions about your capital.
13. Acknowledgement
By using VaultEX, you confirm that you have read this Risk Disclosure, that you understand the risks, and that you accept full responsibility for the decisions you make on the platform.
